"Pete come back!" Mandy yelled as her yellow retriever ran off into the woods. "Stupid dog! He never does anything I say. I wish I had tea cup poodle instead!"
She pulled the hood over her head. The sun wasn't up just yet, but that annoying dog had managed to whine and yelp until finally she let him go outside. And now, with her luck he'd run off into the woods and wasn't answering her at all.
"Pete!" she yelled again as her eyes darted from left to right. I don't have time to chase you all day. I only have two hours left and then I have to start getting ready for my soccer meet.
Kicking freshly fallen leaves on the ground, she stood with her hands on her hips. I knew I should have never taken his behind off the leash!
Moving deeper into the woods she peered through the dense fog. She grew uneasy. For some strange reason, she felt as if she was being watched. "Pete?" she called again with narrowed eyes. But there was no sign of the dog.
All of a sudden a shadowy figure stirred in the distance.
"Pete. Come here boy." she whispered as she slapped her hands against her thigh.
A howling sound echoed through the mist as a pair of sinister yellow eyes stared back at her...
