In Search of the Magic...

Holding the bronze colored knife in my hand , I stared at the blade for a minute. Finally, I gasped; all secrets will be revealed. I had been in love with the idea of this man for ages.

But one mystery remained.

What did his insides look like? Was he as beautiful inside as he was outside? Did he have the magic?

He was lying on his back when I made a long deep gash in his chest. He didn't move. He didn't even feel it!

That's the power of magic...

I grabbed both side of his chest and pried them apart. My mouth watered. My heart raced! Finally I'd know the truth. Was there a real sparkle behind his ice blue eyes or was it all just an illusion?

A gold light burst from his chest and he seemed to gasp for air. But he wasn't in pain; yet still sleeping. I waited for some time for the bright light to dissipate and then with another anxious sigh; I peeped inside.

There was nothing!

The magic wasn't there. The thrill wasn't there. The passion wasn't there. Just a dark hollow cavity that resembled a cave. My eyes welled with tears. This can't be true I thought. How can this be? How could I have been so wrong for all these years?

Things aren't always as they appear. When will I find the magic that matches my own?
